Nintendo has confirmed plans to allow Wii U users to transfer their Wii Virtual Console purchases and Wii game saves to its new, backwards compatible console.
“We are readying the system, yes, to transfer saves and everything you’ve bought,” said Katsuya Eguchi, designer and manager at Nintendo EAD.
Although the company didn’t reveal any further details, comments made by Nintendo’s EVP of sales and marketing Scott Moffitt in an interview with ABC could be an indication of the route Nintendo will take.”
You will have an individual account based system. Each member of your family might have their own account,” Moffitt said.
It’s likely previously purchased content will be locked to user accounts similar to the setup used by Microsoft on Xbox Live profiles.
